Recode host Kara Swisher has a lot to say about fish hooks, which, despite what you may have heard, are not fish.
In this first installment of Recode’s Ask Kara podcast, she answers the following question: Are fish hooks fish?
We’re joined by former Recode intern Ryan McCreary, who recently graduated from college, and former Recoding reporter and co-founder of Recoded, Evan Osnos.
Ryan is a former editor at Recode and now a senior reporter at Recoded.
Evan is a senior writer at Recoding.
We chat about the nature of fish hooks and the science behind them, the importance of using fish hooks to capture fish, the benefits of fish hooking, and more.
You can also find us on Twitter @Recode, Facebook, and YouTube.
Here are the questions that Ryan asked: 1.
When did you first learn about fishhooks?
It was on an island.
I was a little kid in the late ’90s, and I remember my parents buying us fish hooks for our toys.
And my mom said, “This is what fishhooking is.
It’s fishing.”
And it wasn’t like it was a fun thing to do.
We used them for a while, and then it just got really expensive.
2.
So, what is it about fish that catches fish?
It has a chemical that can catch small, fish-like creatures.
It can also capture larger fish, and if you catch something that’s bigger than you are, it can catch you.
So it’s a great way to catch big fish, to catch them in the net, and to catch fish that you can’t catch.
3.
So is it just that people use them in nets?
No.
It also catches fish in the water, which is where they can go, where they live.
And they can even be a good catch for other fish.
4.
So are fishhook traps just catching fish?
No, because they’re not fishing.
They’re just catching small fish, but they’re also a good way to capture smaller fish.
5.
And the catch itself is pretty small?
It’s smaller than a golf ball.
So when you put it in the fish’s stomach, it’s still alive.
6.
So if it’s not fish, what are fish?
They’re invertebrates, like shrimp or fish.
7.
So what is a fishhook?
A fishhook is a device that hooks onto something and grabs something that is large and fishy.
So they’re really, really, very small.
So you can put one in the back of a car, and it’s small enough to catch a car in your hand.
They catch fish by hooking into the fish in their stomach.
So a fish can eat anything in its stomach.
8.
So how are fish hooks used?
There are a number of different ways.
There’s fish hooks that you use to catch bait, like live bait, fish, shellfish, or other things that you want to catch.
And then there are hooks that catch fish in water, like for catching crabs.
Then there are fish hook traps that catch the bait, the bait itself, and they can be a great catch for smaller fish as well.
9.
So do fish hooks work for everyone?
They do, because the larger fish you catch, the bigger the fish.
So fish hooks can catch fish, or they can catch a lot of fish.
You might catch a whole lot of small fish.
10.
So should you buy fish hooks?
Absolutely not.
And you shouldn’t buy them if you don’t want to fish.
11.
So where can I get fish hooks from?
There’s a few places.
One of the best places to get them is online.
There are lots of fish-hook companies, and there’s a lot that are going to charge a lot more.
But they’re all in the same niche.
They all come with different prices, and some of them might even sell them at a discount.
12.
How long do fish hook fishing expeditions last?
It depends on the size of the catch.
There is a very small amount of fish you can catch in a typical expeditions, which can be as little as a day.
And some companies will do a whole day.
But the catch will be over the course of a day, which means that it’s probably going to be very, very expensive.
So the best way to get fish is to buy bait online.
13.
What are the benefits for people using fishhook fishing?
First of all, they’re relatively cheap.
There isn’t a lot for you to spend.
You don’t have to be a fisherman.
You just have to go out and catch some fish.
And if you are going for a long time, you might find that you need to fish more to make up for the difference.
So that’s an additional benefit
