The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Friday that he was confident that he had the necessary ingredients to make people sick with a new antibiotic that he said could be used to treat a variety of infections.
Trump said that the drug is designed to kill the bacteria that cause pneumonia, and that it will also be used for a range of other diseases, including those caused by the virus.
Trump made the comments while addressing a meeting of his administration’s science advisers, who have been preparing the drug for testing and approval.
He said that he has had discussions with scientists and that the team is making progress.
The drug will be available as a new drug class in the next few weeks, said Dr. Donald B. Brown, the president of Merck, the pharmaceutical giant that manufactures the drug.
But he said that it could take up to six months to see the drug tested and approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
“We are at a point where we will get it out, and I am confident we will be very soon,” Trump said.
The administration has been working on the drug since last fall, and has been testing the drug on people with pneumonia, but has not been able to make it more effective against other infections.
The president’s comments came in response to questions from reporters about how quickly the drug would be approved by Congress.
Trump has repeatedly said that his administration is working on a vaccine, but no final decisions have been made.
Brown said that some of the testing of the drug has been done on animals and other animals that don’t respond to the drug, and some have also been tested on humans.
The Drug Enforcement Administration has been monitoring the drug’s safety, and Brown said the agency was encouraged by the results.
He added that the agency has not made a decision on whether to allow the drug to be marketed to the general public.
He also said that Merck has a partnership with a major hospital in Florida to try to develop a vaccine.
The new drug, known as AZT, is an antibiotic that is similar to another drug called carbapenem that has been on the market for some time.
It is also manufactured by Merck and is approved by FDA to treat pneumonia.
Brown told reporters Friday that the company had tested it on people who had pneumonia, including people with bronchitis, who had died of pneumonia in the past.
He called the drug a “very exciting development” for the health care industry.
The first drug approved by Trump’s administration was the drug used in flu vaccines, which are administered by shots given in a nasopharyngeal drip.
It was initially approved in 2000 and is also being used to control the spread of influenza and other diseases.
But the new drug is the first to target the bacteria responsible for pneumonia and is expected to be approved sooner than that.
The FDA has been watching the new antibiotic closely, and is currently reviewing whether to approve it.
Trump did not say whether he planned to order a nationwide recall of all flu vaccines.
The Food and Drugs Administration has already begun a review of flu vaccines given to people in the United State and other countries, and officials have said that they plan to send out the information to vaccine manufacturers.
The agency said that people in countries where flu is common should take flu shots for six weeks after getting the flu vaccine.
