ET and updated at 1:08 p.m.:A New York City-based restaurant chain is apologizing after a video went viral showing a porterhouse pufferfish being battered and fried in a kitchen and then tossed into a water bottle.
The video, posted to Instagram and shared on social media, shows a man putting a porgy fish in a water bag and using a plastic fork to scrape the meat from the fish’s head and tail.
The restaurant chain said on Thursday it was investigating the video and the man who uploaded it, who it said did not want to be identified, was fired.
The restaurant chain did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
