In an effort to increase safety for anglers, the Minnesota Fish and Boat Commission will start regulating fishing gear and licenses in the Twin Cities region.
The Minnesota Fish & Boat Commission (MFBC) is expected to release its new regulations and licensing guidelines in the coming weeks.
The regulations will be more stringent than the regulations of the last several years.
It is important to note that the MFBC has not yet issued any licensing restrictions for commercial fishermen.
However, the Commission will require the fishing licenses of all non-commercial anglers.
If you or anyone you know is caught fishing illegally, you can apply for a license and take part in a training program.
The MNFPB will issue licenses to all qualified anglers who meet certain requirements.
